ABOUT THE MEETING

The Association of University Programs in Health Administration’s Annual Meeting brings together graduate, undergraduate, and doctoral faculty to share ideas and proven practices in educating future practitioners in healthcare management and policy education. The meeting features thought leaders who provoke new ideas and direction for healthcare management education. The largest of AUPHA’s educational meetings, the Annual Meeting provides exceptional opportunities for networking with faculty at domestic and healthcare management programs around the globe.

AUPHA’s Annual Meeting is one of the leading events for healthcare management education professionals to share ideas, exchange resources, and learn about new and original ideas being progressed in the field.

The meeting will be held at the Bahia Resort Hotel, San Diego, California, June 9-11, 2026. The 2026 Annual Meeting theme is

Future Fluent by Design:  Developing Leaders for a Transforming World

The future is arriving faster than ever along with the urgent need to prepare leaders who are not only responsive to change but who are fluent in anticipating, shaping, and leading it. In a healthcare environment defined by constant disruption—emerging technologies, global health crises, new care delivery models, etc.—healthcare management programs must not just keep pace with change, they must set its direction. Such programs will equip graduates with foresight, technological skills, systems thinking, and ethical agility ensuring that these emerging health leaders won’t just navigate complexity but will drive progress within it. This theme challenges us to move healthcare management education to the edge of innovation, where disruption is not a threat, but a catalyst. It calls on educators to embrace uncertainty as a tool for learning and to develop graduates ready to convert volatility into strategic advantage for the benefit of the communities they serve.
